This was about the length of my hair, if not longer, when I started the cosmetology program at El Camino College. The first few things I had done to it was bleach the ends and color it menstrual blood red. Looking back, that was my favorite color out all the colors we did put in the ends, until they were pretty much fried off. Throughout this coarse, my hair ended up shortening...
During the summer, I finally agreed with myself to do something different, so I had Kaley shave the side of my head and I rocked it!
Couldn't be more in love with my shaved head, until I returned to the fall semester and every gal in my class wanted me to shave their heads! I love this look on most girrrls, but when the look gets played out, you got to move on... so I decided to CHOP the length! I had been starring at Karen O's hair (our leading lady from the yeah yeah yeah's) for quite some time and was ready to try it out. Talbot (my genius bf) cut my hair. I had him leave some length. I was ready to go short but couldn't come to terms with it, so I ended up with a nicely done haircut that looked something of a cross between a Ramone, Karen O and Kiki Dee:
As this haircut grew on me (literally), I wasn't happy with pictures of myself and I got bored of styling it. So, after talking to my hair mentor about it, she agreed that she would cut it for me.
I went back and had it texturized even more after realizing I didn't have to do anything to really style my insanely short mane. I love it, but I'm ready for my long locks again. It's been fun, but out of these hair experiences of 2010, I've decided to go long and preserve my natural color for as long as I can... we'll see how long it'll last! I'm actually looking forward to trying out extensions as soon as my hair is long enough.
Here's to a New Year of decision making...

Pin-up Girl
Model: Christa
Location: Liberty Bell in San Pedro CA 2010
I used Christa as a model for a victory roll demo in beauty school. I can't stand my photography, but her hair came out SO freakin cute!!! She makes for a great pin-up model because she has that sexy hour glass shape and tight tummy. NOT to mention all the tattoos. Cute pic, little sailor girl!<3Alexia

This was another paid shoot, but I wasn't happy with the photography. This is when I start getting frustrated with being a photographer with little knowledge and low-end equipment. This image ended up fine, I guess, but I also feel that ALL images are going to come out similar to the attitude and experience of the model and this one was just dull. I couldn't agree more with Tyra when she calls out "just another girl with a pretty face". Not model material. Whatever. My concept and my hat.

I remember being very satisfied with everything when I shot this one. I used Gwen Stefani as inspiration for her swirl up top. These images came out so darling. If I were to do anything different, I would probably change out my lighting system and change the color of the gloves and tights so she wouldnt be so washed out. Overall, :)
